Uzstandard and Bureau of Indian Standards sign Cooperation Agreement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in India and the Embassy of the Republic of India in Tashkent together with the Bureau of Indian Standards are enhancing cooperation in standardization and conformity assessment.

Based on the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme, special attention is paid to science, advanced training of workers in standardization and management systems.

As previously reported, on December 11, a virtual summit of the heads of state of Uzbekistan and India was held. Within the framework of the meeting, a number of bilateral documents were signed concerning the economy, innovation, financial and technical support, customs, personnel training and conducting joint scientific research. A Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Bureau of Indian Standards and Uzstandard Agency.

The agreement creates a legal basis for mutual recognition of standardization certificates, conformity assessment of test results and certificates of conformity, cooperation, organization of trainings and workshops to exchange experience.
