UzLiDeP structures organized over 400 events on constitutional reforms

Effective organization of active participation of party structures in the process of improving the Constitution was discussed at a regular meeting of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan.

“Advocacy groups consisting of at least 5 members have been established in each region to widely promote constitutional reforms”, the party leader Aktam Hayitov said. – Working groups have been established under the Executive Committee of the Political Council of the party in 9 areas identified by the Head of the state on constitutional reforms. Explanatory work on the need for introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution and the essence of this reform is carried out not only among more than one million members of the party, but also among the general public, including mahallas, businesses, primary party organizations. The proposals put forward by the working group on amendments and additions to the Constitution are being summarized and submitted to the National Commission for Amendments to the Constitution.

It was noted that since the beginning of the Сonstitutional reforms, the republican and regional advocacy groups have held 410 events in primary party organizations, labor unions, higher education institutions, and mahallas. They covered about 21,000 participants. More than 270 proposals were made by the participants of the event.

Tasks for the systematic continuation of this advocacy work and the regular submission of proposals to the National Commission were identified at the meeting.
