Owners of domain names served by UZINFOCOM can optionally transfer their domain names to any other official registrar of “UZ” zone. All registrar’s clients have already received relevant notices.

This decision will contribute to development of a competitive network of registrars, adoption of measures on decentralization of registration services and supporting domain names, improving the quantity and quality of domain name registration services provided in IT market.

Top-level domain “UZ” was registered on April 29, 1995, and in March 2003, the international organization ICANN transferred the right to administer the domain “UZ” to UZINFOCOM. The regulation of activities of the domain zone is carried out by the main normative-legal document – the Regulation on the procedure of registration and use of domain names in “UZ” domain, registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
