The Uzbekkino National Agency has been renamed the Cinematography Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan by the Decree of the President “On measures to raise the cinema art and film industry to a qualitatively new level and further improve the system of state support for the industry” of April 7, 2021.

The decree defines the tasks of the agency: systemic continuation of reforms aimed at the development of the national cinema, improvement of the system of state support for this sphere, the introduction of effective mechanisms for film production based on world experience, as well as the creation of a modern film industry infrastructure in the country with modern high-tech material and technical base, and development of film distribution systems.

The document also provides for the expansion of the cinemas network, the organization of international film festivals, the encouragement of filmmakers and the provision of preferences, the improvement of the quality of education in cinematography, and others.
