“Development of international cooperation in cinematography is an urgent task of Uzbekistan film industry. We have discussed the issue of reviving Tashkent International Film Festival on the basis of the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan. This important task cannot be accomplished without participation of foreign partners. It is necessary not only to revive the festival, but also make it popular all over the world”, says Uzbekkino Director General Firdavs Abdukhalikov.

Tashkent International Film Festival was held from 1968 to 1992 and was the most prestigious and major event for filmmakers from Asia, Africa and Latin America. Participants discussed issues of development of the film industry, increased their knowledge and shared experience.
