The U17 World Wrestling Championships is being held in Jordan. Uzbekistan’s athletes are successfully competing there.
On the first day of the championships, Uzbekistan’s Greco-Roman wrestlers entered the fight. Thus, Khusniddin Abdukarimov, competing in the 48 kg weight category, won in the first round against Martin Manzhikyan from Armenia. In the quarterfinals, he defeated neutral wrestler Nikolay Kristov, and in the semifinals, Laszlo Szuromi from Hungary. Now, in the finals, he will meet Armin Shamsipour from Iran.
Thus, Khusniddin Abdukarimov already has at least a silver medal from the World Championships.
At the same time, Uzbekistan’s wrestlers Sardor Kholmurzayev (-55 kg), Fayozbek Eshmirzayev (-65 kg), and Saidamir Nematov (-110 kg) have already won the right to participate in the World Championships for bronze medals. Unfortunately, Shokhjakhon Shavkatov, who had competed in the weight category of up to 80 kg, lost the fight.
