The World Championships Veterans 2021 continues in Portugal’s Lisbon.

More than 350 veteran judokas from 40 countries are competing for the championship titles among athletes over the age of 30.

Uzbekistan’s two athletes in the weight category up to 100 kilograms demonstrated their skills. Mukhtorkhuja Tulayev lost the qualifying stage.

Another athlete from Uzbekistan Jamshid Fayziyev, who competed in the same weight category, successfully passed the qualifying stage of the championship. But in the fight for the bronze medal, he lost to the Polish athlete Janiszewski and ended his participation in the World Championship in the top five.

The World Championships Veterans will run until October 24. Another three athletes from Uzbekistan will compete for medals in their weight categories.
