Uzbekistan’s tourist office opens in Beijing
16:39 / 2025-09-02

The opening of the tourist office of Uzbekistan took place in Beijing.

It was held as part of an official top-level visit and became another vivid symbol of friendly relations, mutual trust, and strategic partnership between the two countries.

Representatives of Uzbekistan and China’s leading tourism agencies, travel companies, and others attended the event.

It was noted that the opening of a tourist office in Beijing will create new opportunities for expanding tourism ties between Uzbekistan and China, help major Chinese tour operators enter the Uzbekistan market, and also become a platform for implementing joint projects and attracting investment in the tourism sector. The office will provide foreign investors with detailed information about the opportunities available in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector and actively participate in the implementation of relevant projects.

Due to the initiatives of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, bilateral cooperation in tourism has reached a new level in recent years. The introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime from June 1, 2025, as well as the establishment of more than 50 regular flights per week between the two countries, are among the significant steps. It is planned to increase this figure to 100 flights in the coming years. In addition, the announcement of 2025 as the Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in China also contributes to further strengthening tourism cooperation between the two countries. During the current year, the Uzbekistan delegation held roadshows in nine major cities of China, took an active part in tourism exhibitions, and presentations are also planned in several provinces by the end of the year.

The Uzbek side aims to increase the number of tourists from China to 3 million by 2030. The opening of a new tourist office in Beijing is one of the significant steps towards achieving this goal.

Following the event, representatives of Uzbekistan invited all participants to visit Uzbekistan, emphasizing that Uzbekistan will continue to be one of the open and convenient destinations for Chinese tourists.
