The Shanghai Tourism Industry Association hosted a presentation on Uzbekistan’s tourism potential.

The event, organized by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Shanghai, was attended by representatives of major travel companies such as Shanghai Jinjiang Tourism, China Travel Head Office in Shanghai, Shanghai Airlines International Tourism (Group), Shanghai Ctrip International Travel Service, Shanghai Spring and Autumn Travel Service, Scarecrow Travel, Shanghai Huilong Exhibition Service, and others.

Information was provided about the historical cities and sights of Uzbekistan and the comprehensive measures taken in the country to support the tourism industry and create favorable conditions for foreign tourists.

From the Chinese side, an opinion was expressed on the need for opening a direct flight between Uzbekistan and Shanghai, which could serve as a sharp increase in Chinese tourists to Uzbekistan. It was also proposed to work out the organization of a working trip (info tour) for the Chinese delegation to Uzbekistan to get acquainted with the sights of the country, which would serve to create more convenient tour packages, as well as effective tourist advertising of Uzbekistan for Chinese tourists.
