In Giza, Egypt, on the occasion of the New Year, presentations and a roundtable discussion on Uzbekistan’s tourism potential were organized.

The event was attended by members of the Egyptian Parliament, representatives of research centers, and local tourism companies.

Changes in tourism, the election of the city of Khiva as the Tourism Capital of the Islamic World in 2024, and activities within its framework were noted, and information was provided on the benefits offered to tourism sector companies from January 1.

The event participants highly appreciated the measures taken by the government to support tour operators, including partial reimbursement of funds spent on organizing charter flights from foreign countries to the international airports of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Urgench.

Those present emphasized the particular interest of Egyptians in Khorezm region and its history.

Following the event, representatives of several travel companies announced that they would develop special programs to attract tourists to Uzbekistan.
