Uzbekistan’s theater artists to take part in the International Festival
On June 5-11, Tatarstan’s Kazan will host the XVI International Theater Festival of Turkic Peoples “Nauruz”. 28 theaters from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Belarus will take part in it.
The program of this prestigious theater festival also includes a performance by Syrdarya Regional Musical Drama Theater called “Momo Yer” (“Mother Earth”). Workshops and master classes on acting and directing, theater studies, and management in theatrical art will be held within the framework of the festival.
For the first time, the Nauruz festival was organized in 1989. By 1998, it had acquired international status and was held in Kazan every four years. Since 2009, it has been held every two years.
