12:14 / 2023-12-31

The Embassy of Uzbekistan organized a presentation on the potential of pilgrimage tourism on “Ancient Bukhara” and a B2B meeting between tour operators of Uzbekistan and Malaysia.

The event was attended by Sheikh Awadh Bin Abdullah, Deputy President of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), more than 50 tour operators, and representatives of the travel companies Grand Atlas Discovery and Sherin Travel.

Participants were informed about large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan in various areas and measures being taken to develop modern tourism infrastructure.

MATTA Deputy President Sheikh Awadh Bin Abdullah noted that Uzbekistan's rich history, cultural heritage, unique wonders, and hospitality are of great interest to Malaysians. He emphasized that cities such as Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent surprise foreign guests with a combination of ancient history and modernity. Also, in recent years, large-scale projects have been implemented in the country to update facilities and tourism infrastructure.

Following the event, to increase the flow of tourists to the country, agreements were reached on intensifying B2B relations between tour operators of the two countries, ensuring the active participation of Uzbekistan travel companies in exhibitions in Malaysia, as well as organizing weekly info-tours for the largest tour operators in 2024.
