Delegation of the Hokimiyat of Tashkent region has met with the Director General of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) Pau Roca, in France.

The parties discussed the issues of organizing a Vine Festival in Uzbekistan. It was noted that at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, in the first ten days of September, it is planned to hold this festival in Parkent district.

Pau Roca highly appreciated this decision and expressed the willingness of the OIV to take part in the preparation of this important event. He also emphasized that Uzbekistan is an active participant among 48 participating countries. 

According to Dunyo IA, the OIV Director General announced his readiness to hold an event under the patronage of the organization, which will first need to be agreed upon in the relevant committee of the OIV.

Following the meeting, a preliminary agreement was reached on organizing a scientific workshop with the OIV as part of an event dedicated to the potential of Uzbekistan in viticulture and winemaking.
