France hosted the World Para Athletics Championships.

Uzbekistan’s athletes won 6 gold, 7 silver, 4 bronze medals and took 8th place in the team event.

On the last day of the championships, a member of Uzbekistan’s team, Nurkhon Kurbanova, won the gold medal in the women’s javelin throw competition in the F54 class, setting a score of 20 meters 15 centimeters.

The Chinese team, which won 16 gold and silver medals, as well as 13 bronze medals, took first place in the team event, and the Brazilian team came second (it has 14 gold, 13 silver and 20 bronze medals). The top three was closed by athletes from the United States, who won 10 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze medals.

The next World Para Athletics Championships will be held in Japan on 17-25 May 2024.
