The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Abdusalomov arrived in Seoul this morning. Before his appointment, the 40-year-old diplomat served as Head of the Secretariat of the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
Alisher Abdusalomov studied at Westminster International University in Tashkent and Kyung Hee University in South Korea. His career began at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, where he worked as a leading specialist to the Head of the Main Department.
The diplomatic service played a significant role in his career. From 2013 to 2016, he worked as an Advisor on trade and economic issues at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, and from 2018 to 2024, he performed similar duties in South Korea.
He replaced Vitaly Fen, who headed the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul with short breaks from 1995 to 2024. The new ambassador expressed his intention to continue strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea, focusing on the economic, cultural, and diplomatic aspects of interaction.
