Tashkent hosted WKF Asian Karate Championships.

Competitions were organized in the categories of juniors, youth, adults and para karate. Uzbekistan national team won 3 gold, 5 silver and 14 bronze medals and took 5th place in the team event.

In uncompromising competitions, Muhammadrizo Abdulatipov, Abdulvakhob Rashidov, Gayrat Jurayev became the owners of gold medals. Young athletes Humoyunmirzo Khalimov, Muhammadlaziz Khodjakulov, Islomjon Sattarov, Bonu Egamberdiyeva, Saidikrom Mahkamov and others became winners of the championships.
