As previously reported, a group of journalists from Uzbekistan are visiting Azerbaijan. Media representatives spent the second day of their trip in Ganja.

The journalists visited the first Honorary Consulate of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan, located in the city of Ganja, the official opening ceremony of which took place on April 19 in the presence of the head of the Executive Power of Ganja Niyazi Bayramov, the heads of the consulates of Türkiye and Georgia located here, as well as representatives of the business community, science, the public and local media.

Kanan Jalilov was appointed the first Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan.

The Honorary Consulate will help protect the rights and interests of Uzbekistan’s citizens, develop economic cooperation, attract investment and tourists to Uzbekistan, and develop cultural and humanitarian ties.

Media representatives also visited the mausoleum of the world-famous poet-humanist of the 12th century, Nizami Ganjavi. The mausoleum was erected on the poet’s grave in 1947, rebuilt in 1991, and reconstructed in 2011-2012.
