The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva received the President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Afandiyeva, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the Days of Shusha City in Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the parties focused on issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the structures of the Organization of Turkic States, including the further development of relations in the cultural-humanitarian sphere.

The Chairperson of the Senate stressed that the cultural-humanitarian sphere is an important area of bilateral relations, and that she highly appreciates the activities of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation aimed at preserving, restoring and popularizing the culture and heritage of the Turkic peoples. It was noted that Uzbekistan is developing permanent cooperation with the Organization of Turkic States and its specialized institutions.

In turn, the President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and stressed that relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have risen to a higher level in recent years. Ms. Gunay Afandiyeva also highly appreciated the initiatives put forward by Uzbekistan within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further enhancing cultural-humanitarian ties, a continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation.
