Member of Uzbekistan national team in Greco-Roman wrestling Rustam Assakalov took part in the Asian Championships in Mongolia.

Assakalov fought Mehdi Balihamzehdeh from Iran in the final, in the weight category up to 97 kg. Unfortunately, the competition ended with the victory of the Iranian wrestler. Uzbekistan’s wrestler was awarded the silver medal at the Asian Championships.

Muhammadkadir Rasulov defeated Yuya Okajima from Japan in the weight category up to 82 kg in the fight for a bronze medal. Mahmud Bakhshullayev (-67 kg) and Mirzobek Rakhmatov (-72 kg) lost at this stage, the Press Service of the National Olympic Committee reports.

Uzbekistan’s wrestlers won two silver and three bronze medals at the Asian Championships.

Competitions in women’s wrestling will start on April 21.
