Uzbekistan’s furniture and woodworking companies to create a furniture cluster
09:28 / 2020-12-18

On December 17, Tashkent hosted a conference with participation of representatives of more than 50 furniture and woodworking domestic companies – members of MEYOS Association, which unites manufacturers and suppliers of Uzbekistan’s woodworking industry.

At the event, entrepreneurs discussed a wide range of issues: the business process, personnel training, creating export departments, access to foreign markets. The Association announced the initiative of an investment project on which the Association will work next year – the creation of a furniture cluster, which will improve the business environment, increase the competitiveness of goods, production and trade turnover.

Representatives of other associations and the Business Ombudsman were invited to discuss the tasks for 2021. The entry into the Economy Assembly of Uzbekistan was also a significant event for the Association. Membership in this organization with the support of the Export Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan will provide an opportunity to compensate for the costs of introducing ISO standardization systems, participation in international exhibitions and promotion of the Uzbek furniture brand abroad.

The Home Show brand, which is promoted by the Association in the foreign market, was presented at the conference. This brand unites the leading furniture manufacturers and representatives of Uzbekistan’s woodworking industry. Under this brand, the Association organizes the largest industry exhibition, which became the main event of Uzbekistan furniture market in 2019, setting a new format for the exhibition of the furniture, interior and design industry. Presentation of the website homeshow.kz – an online furniture store, was also held. It will be promoted in Uzbekistan, Russia and Kazakhstan and allow entering the international e-commerce market.
