Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov has received the Iranian President’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan Hassan Kazemi Qomi.

The parties exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan. The current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran, as well as the interaction of the parties on the Afghan issue, were discussed.

The readiness of the parties to continue a constructive dialogue on the issues of post-conflict reconstruction of Afghanistan, the provision of humanitarian assistance to the fraternal Afghan people and their involvement in the regional process was emphasized.

The Iranian side confirmed its participation in the International Conference on Afghanistan scheduled for July 2022 in Tashkent.

At the meeting, the main attention was paid to the implementation by Uzbekistan and Iran of infrastructure, transport and energy projects in Afghanistan.

Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev attended the talks.
