Uzbekistan’s exhibition project presented in Italy
10:09 / 2024-08-21

The large-scale exhibition project “Uzbekistan: Avant-Garde in the Desert” continues in the Palazzo Pitti, Uffizi Gallery, Florence, and the exposition space of the Ca’ Foscari University, Italy.

In addition to crafts and art, Uzbekistan was known throughout the world for its cotton fields in the 20th century. This plant, popularly called white gold, symbolized the country’s agricultural industry, inspiring the paintings of many artists. In the Florence section of the “Light and Color” project, visitors can enjoy the triptych of Uzbek artist Alexander Volkov, “Cotton”.

In these works, the painter depicted three stages – the cultivation of this plant, its collection, and transportation.

The “Form and Symbol” project will be open to visitors in the exposition space of Ca’ Foscari University until September 8.
