Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister meets with the Ambassador of Germany

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany Gunther Overfield.

According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, at the meeting, the current issues of the current agenda of trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as ways of its further expansion were discussed.

The parties noted positive trends observed in the economic relations between the two countries, expressed in specific figures. In 2020, the volume of German investments increased by 25%, exceeding the $700 million mark, and exports to Germany increased by 17%.

Mechanisms for building up and diversifying bilateral trade took a special place on the agenda. An agreement was also reached to organize a videoconference with the participation of large German textile brands and Uzbekistan manufacturers. Issues of financial and technical cooperation were considered.
