Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fazilov has met with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala and Ambassador at Large for Connectivity at European External Action Service (EEAS) Romana Vlahutin.

EU representatives arrived in Uzbekistan as part of an EU delegation to attend the High-Level International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” in Tashkent.

The parties noted their commitment to further strengthening relations, enhancing trade and economic ties, technical assistance, cooperation in education, security and others, as well as increasing joint projects.

The schedule and agenda of meetings of joint structures on trade and investments, sustainable development, as well as issues of preparation for the EU – Central Asia forum on tourism in autumn were discussed.
