Qatar hosts the international chess tournament “Qatar Masters Open”.
The tournament’s first round, with a prize fund of $108,250, has passed. It was attended by chess players who scored more than 2300 points in the FIDE rating.
Nodirbek Abdusattorov beat Jakub Seemann from Poland, Javokhir Sindorov – Antonio Dcunha Viani from India, Nodirbek Yokubboyev – Garv Gaur from India, Jakhongir Vokhidov – Mohammad Fahad Rahman from Bangladesh, Shamsiddin Vokhidov – Jaiveer Mahendru from India. Bakhrom Bakhrillayev, Mukhiddin Madaminov, and Abdumalik Abdusalimov scored a point each, beating their opponents, and Muhammadzokhid Suyarov and Almas Rakhmatullaev ended up in a draw.
The tournament will last until October 21 and consists of nine rounds. The first place winner will receive $25,000, the second place will receive $15,000, and the third place will receive $10,000.
