Uzbekistan’s chess players at the World Cup
The Women’s World Chess Cup is taking place in Batumi.
The tournament, with a prize fund of $676,250, brings together 107 of the strongest grandmasters from 47 countries.
Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova, Afruza Khamdamova, and Umida Omonova are representing Uzbekistan.

Afruza Khamdamova defeated Fiorella Contreras of Peru, while Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova won against Yerisbel Miranda Llanes of Cuba. Umida Omonova drew with Sophie Milliet from France.

The tournament, which offers a qualification spot for the 2026 World Championship, will continue until July 28. The winner will receive $50,000.
