Uzbekistan’s athletes won 26 medals at the World Kickboxing Championship

A solemn meeting of Uzbekistan’s athletes who won 26 medals at the World Kickboxing Championship among children, cadets and juniors in the city of Lido di Jesolo (Italy) took place at the Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.

“Our young kickboxers have achieved such a result for the first time at the World Championships. We won 4 gold, 7 silver and 15 bronze medals. This inspires us to new victories”, says the head of the delegation Oybek Narmetov. – As is known, kickboxing is included in the program of the 2028 Summer Olympics. Our athletes who won in Italy will defend the honor of our country in the Los Angeles 2028 games.

Taekwondo fighters, who won 11 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze medals in the ITF Taekwondo World Cup in Slovenia, were also solemnly met at the capital’s airport.

“More than 300 athletes from 60 countries of the world took part in the World Cup. According to the team result, we took 5th place in the cup competitions, 4th place in the competition between clubs”, says the coach of Uzbekistan youth team Mukhriddin Azamov.

Director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications, President of Uzbekistan Kickboxing Federation Asadjon Khodjayev, Department Head at the Ministry of Sports Development Fakhriddin Abdukarimov and representatives of the general public took part in the event.
