On December 13-20, Minsk hosted the 55th World Taekwondo Championships and World Cup among youth, juniors and adults.

64 athletes from Uzbekistan also took part in the championships. They won 21 gold, 15 silver and 20 bronze medals at the World Championships and took third place in the team events.
