Uzbekistan National Team, taking part in the Asian Men's Handball Championship in Saudi Arabia, has completed the preliminary qualifying stage.

According to the National Olympic Committee, Uzbekistan’s handball players managed to beat Hong Kong in the first round with a score of 28:24, but in the second they lost to rivals from Bahrain, 19:35. In the decisive third round, the national team members defeated rivals from Vietnam with a score of 30:23. As a result, the athletes entered the top eight and will continue their participation in the next stage in two subgroups. The first and second place holders in their quartets will advance to the semifinals.
