Uzbekistan National Team took part in Taekwondo Grand Prix, in Italy.

In the weight category up to 80 kg, Uzbekistan’s Shukhrat Salayev defeated Jordanian Fahed Subeihi, in the second round – winner of Tokyo 2020, Croatian Toni Kanaet, and in the quarterfinals – Spanish Daniel Barrera.

For the final, Shukhrat Salayev faced another winner of Tokyo 2020, Egyptian Seif Eissa. In the first round, Uzbekistan’s athlete became the winner, while in the subsequent rounds he lost to his opponent. 

Thus, Shukhrat Salayev became a bronze medalist.
