On August 20-25, Saint Petersburg hosts the “Commonwealth of Academic Arts: History and Modernity” festival symposium.
An international forum took place as part of the symposium.
The project included a cycle of art criticism and scientific, artistic, and musical events. It was called upon to revive a single cultural code based on the national and historical traditions of academic art and to identify and fix new traditions in art emerging in the CIS, to promote their popularization, development, and integration.

The forum is part of the national plan to implement the “Saint Petersburg – the cultural capital of the Commonwealth” event in 2023. Its subject matter reflected the development of fine and opera art in the Commonwealth and issues of contemporary politics and diplomacy of the CIS countries in the historical and cultural context: achievements, problems, and trends.

Uzbekistan was presented by Kamola Akilova, Doctor of Art History, Director of the Fine Arts Gallery, Dilafruz Kadyrova, Doctor of Arts History, Editor-in-Chief of the “SAN'AT” magazine, Sukhrob Kurbanov, art critic, head of the Educational and Methodological Department of the Institute of Social and Political Sciences, and doctoral student of the National Institute of Arts and Design named after Kamoliddin Behzod Zukhra Zaynutdinova. This has been reported by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
