Uzbekistan’s architectural monuments and features of their reconstruction

The Ministry of Culture, the National Institute of Fine Arts and Design named after Kamoliddin Bekhzod organized a scientific workshop on “Important problems of restoration and conservation in modern Uzbekistan”, at the Academy of Arts of the country.

Current issues of protection and preservation of monuments were discussed at the event.

Uzbekistan has been considered a hotbed of science, enlightenment and creativity since ancient times. The country has brought up many great scientists and thinkers who left a huge spiritual and tangible heritage that has become an invaluable contribution to the development of science and education, culture and art not only in the country but throughout the world. The careful preservation and bringing this heritage to future generations are the most important tasks today.

The state pays great attention to the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage objects and objects of art, scientific research, the development of restoration work through training and advanced training of relevant specialists.

In his Address to the Oliy Majlis, the President touched upon the issue of raising the cultural and enlightenment level of people, and noted: “We need to preserve and pass on to future generations the cultural heritage of our people. At present, it includes more than 7 thousand objects”.

Problems of preserving the historical appearance of the architecture of Uzbekistan pilgrimage places, conservation and restoration of written sources, an innovative approach to monitoring the technical condition of architectural monuments in Khiva, training restorers for the system of art education were discussed. Plans for the future were identified.
