Ambassadors of Uzbekistan to Italy Otabek Akbarov, France – Sardor Rustambayev and Israel – Feruza Makhmudova visited the Center of Islamic Civilization under construction in Tashkent.
The Center is expected to become a true masterpiece of Islamic architecture and the personification of the third Renaissance of Uzbekistan. To turn this idea into reality, world-famous architectural and construction companies have been involved, including with the assistance of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad.
Famous French company Wilmotte & Associés is engaged in the engineering and design of this ensemble, the delegation of which, led by Managing Director Borina Andrieu visited Uzbekistan to hold meetings with relevant ministries and agencies of the country.
During the visit to the CIC, the diplomats met with the Minister of Construction Botir Zokirov and representatives of the French company.
The delegation got acquainted with the progress of work on the construction of the architectural ensemble, as well as upcoming events for the qualitative implementation of this grandiose project, which has no analogs in the entire Islamic world.
Italy’s Trend took part in the design of the dome of the Center, which previously manufactured and installed a dome with a crescent on the central building near the main mosque in the city of Mecca (Saudi Arabia). The cladding of the exterior of the building is carried out using unique natural marble and granite from FHL Kiriakidis Group. Leading Italian companies will take part in the manufacturing and installation of the central chandelier under the dome, the crystal pavilion and other important elements of the CIC building.
Issues of attracting foreign companies, including Italian and French, for the design and construction of office premises, interior design and design of individual parts of the complex, were discussed. The possibility of studying the Israeli experience in the preservation of architectural monuments in the conditions of modern urban planning and urban infrastructure was also considered.
The CIC will consist of a museum, an Islamic academy, an information and resource center, a library, a conference hall, office premises and other facilities.
