Ambassador of Uzbekistan Botirjon Asadov solemnly presented the Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko and his deputy Oleg Gridnev with “Mehr-Sakhovat” (“Kindness and Generosity”) badges, awarded in accordance with the decision of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in healthcare sector develops. Conferences held on an ongoing basis, scientific and practical training courses and internships for medical specialists, exchange of experience and mutual assistance, vividly demonstrated in a difficult epidemiological situation due to the new coronavirus infection are a manifestation of solidarity. In particular, the Ministry of Health of Russia in a short time worked out the issue of sending 75 leading Russian medical specialists to Uzbekistan to provide methodological and practical assistance to their Uzbek colleagues in the fight against coronavirus.
The Ministry of Health of Russia, in cooperation with the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, provided Uzbekistan with 1,400 sets of test systems for conducting 140,000 studies, which made it possible to timely identify and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Meetings and negotiations held on a regular basis via videoconferences became a significant vector of cooperation during the pandemic, at which common methods, new methodologies and protocols for the prevention and treatment of various diseases, including coronavirus infection, were developed. This contributed to an effective exchange of experience and coordination of actions between the ministries of health, services for ensuring human wellbeing and other medical institutions of the two countries.
Minister Mikhail Murashko thanked for the award and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation, including the opening of branches of Russian universities in Uzbekistan.
“Mehr-Sakhovat” badge was established in accordance with the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan of May 26, 2020. It is awarded to Uzbekistan and foreign citizens for courage and bravery shown in overcoming the trials that our people had to endure during the widespread coronavirus pandemic, which became a global threat, while eliminating the consequences of various natural disasters and emergencies; worthy continuation and development of such high spiritual values and traditions of our people as mercy, generosity and kindness; a great contribution to turning into a nationwide movement activities to comprehensively support socially vulnerable segments of the population; effective distribution of charitable funds, initiative in providing timely gratuitous assistance to the population in a difficult situation; active participation shown in today’s difficult times in strengthening the atmosphere of peace, tranquility, unity and mutual understanding in our society; an example of charity and good deeds.
