As previously reported, during a visit to Vietnam, the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held talks in Hanoi with several officials.
At a meeting with the Minister of Planning and Investment of Vietnam, Nguyen Chi Dung, the parties discussed the prospects for implementing new project initiatives in electric power, chemical production, textiles, electrical engineering and building materials, creating a joint working group to prepare an industrial cooperation program between the two countries.
At a meeting with the Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Nguyen Hong Dien, an agreement was reached to speed up the consideration and conclusion of a Cooperation Agreement and mutual assistance in customs matters. The issue of forming a joint working group to develop proposals for increasing the volume and diversifying the range of goods in mutual trade was agreed upon.

The Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov also met with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien.
The parties agreed to continue the implementation of the program for the development of industrial rice growing in Uzbekistan with the involvement of Vietnamese specialists and the introduction of new varieties, as well as to enhance cooperation between scientists from research institutes of rice growing in Uzbekistan and Vietnam to improve the seed breeding system, adapt Vietnamese early ripening varieties to the conditions of Uzbekistan.

The issues of implementing joint projects in using alternative energy sources, as well as in the electrical industry and the production of modern building materials were discussed at a meeting with the leadership of Gelex Group. Following the talks, an agreement was reached on developing relevant project documentation.
Talks were held with the Executive Board Member of the Vietnam Electronics Industries Association, Do Thi Thuy Huong. An agreement was reached on signing a Cooperation Program with the Uzeltechsanoat Association for the implementation of joint projects with the involvement of Vietnamese companies. Including the production of semiconductor products, electronic printed circuit boards in various regions of Uzbekistan, as well as the production of LED chips.
Issues of implementing a project for the production of food and non-alcoholic beverages in the Angren Free Economic Zone were discussed with the leadership of Mareven Food Holdings.
