Uzbekistan, Vietnam Deputy FMs discuss the development of relations

The fifth round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam took place on January 21, via videoconference.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the country’s delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Furqat Sidikov and the Vietnamese delegation – Deputy Foreign Minister To Anh Dung.

Congratulations were exchanged on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (January 17). The current state and prospects for further development of Uzbekistan – Vietnam cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other fields were also discussed.

The parties expressed their readiness to make joint efforts to intensify cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including within the framework of international structures, as well as to continue a constructive dialogue on the current issues of the world and regional politics.

The schedule of the upcoming events, including the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and Uzbekistan – Vietnam Business Forum was considered.
