On 13 April 2021, an online meeting was held between the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Akmal Burkhonov, the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Artem Sytnyk, and the Head of the National Agency for the Corruption Prevention of Ukraine, Alexander Novikov.
Akmal Burkhonov provided information about the measures aimed at combating corruption in Uzbekistan, the Agency's tasks and its activities.
In turn, the Ukrainian side focused on the main tasks and functions of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the National Agency for the Corruption Prevention of Ukraine.
The parties exchanged views on the practice of Uzbekistan and Ukraine on issues related to the effectiveness of mechanisms aimed at preventing corruption, the practice of protecting persons who reported corruption situations, the procedure for considering citizens' appeals and others.
Information was provided on the experience of Ukraine in maintaining the unified state register of persons who have committed corruption-related offenses, the work of the system for the declaration of income and property of civil servants, the definition of corruption risks and the system of rating assessments of the activities of state bodies.
Following the meeting, the participants discussed the possibilities of organizing official business trips to establish direct contacts and permanent dialogue between organizations, study anti-corruption models, and exchange experiences.
