The Embassy of Uzbekistan in London has organized virtual talks between the Vice-Rector of Samarkand State University Mukhtar Nasirov and the Vice Principal of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) Stuart Gibb.

The parties exchanged views on promising areas of joint academic and scientific-research projects, as well as mutually acceptable formats of cooperation.

The British side was informed about the priorities of Uzbekistan to improve the higher education system, including the widespread introduction of teaching foreign languages system.

The assistance of the Scottish university in launching a new master’s program based on Samarkand State University with the introduction of British educational standards, the implementation of educational programs in the electronics, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering and joint scientific research were noted as promising areas of cooperation.

The parties agreed to develop concrete proposals for the practical implementation of the agreements.
