Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London attended the Uzbek-British talks on the promotion of cooperation in the trade-economic sphere.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and the Embassy of Uzbekistan, from the British side – representatives of the Department for International Trade, the Office of the Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and the British Diplomatic Mission in Tashkent.
The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the 25th Meeting of the Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council (UBTIC), which was held on February 3-4. Issues of providing technical assistance to the UK to several joint projects, including in supporting economic reforms, Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO and expanding exports of agricultural products of the country were under focus.
The British side welcomed the ratification of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the UK by Uzbekistan, which opens up new opportunities for the development of cooperation in various spheres.
The parties agreed to continue close coordination of efforts aimed at enhancing collaboration in trade, investment and financial-technological spheres.
