Uzbekistan, UK centers of Islamic studies established cooperation
First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Sodik Safoyev, as a member of the International Academic Advisory Committee of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS), has taken part in the center’s regular meeting via videoconference.
Main directions of the OCIS’s activities and prospects for international cooperation were considered at the event.
According to the upper house of Parliament, a number of prominent politicians, scientists and public figures of Muslim countries also took part in the meeting of the committee, which was chaired by the head of OCIS, Dr Farhan Ahmad Nizami.
The participants of the meeting discussed priority directions of teaching and research activities in the Islamic community and science. In particular, projects in healthcare, science and technology, allocation of scholarships and grants, leadership programs, international academic cooperation and others were considered.
