Turkmenistan’s Ashgabat hosted an International Conference on “Dialogue is a Guarantee of Peace”. Uzbekistan delegation led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva was also invited to the event.
The conference was attended by United Nations Under-Secretary-General, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Olga Algayerova, EU Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala, members of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia, as well as representatives of other international organizations.
In the address of the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, it was emphasized that the UN and its specialized structures will continue to support global efforts and initiatives aimed at ensuring peace and security, sustainable development of Central Asian countries.

Mrs. Narbayeva noted that bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are in the nature of a strategic partnership based on centuries-old friendship, good neighborliness and mutual support.
Turkmenistan noted the high contribution of Uzbekistan to the development of regional cooperation between Central Asian countries, and the fact that thanks to the efforts of the leaders of the two countries, bilateral relations have risen to a completely new level in recent years.
At the plenary session of the conference and three sessions on “Dialogue is the basis for conflict prevention”, “Strengthening food and environmental security through dialogue”, “Multilateral cooperation in cyberspace and the role of online networks in establishing international dialogue”, practical aspects of strengthening international cooperation and join forces in these areas were considered.
