The First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis A. Saidov met with the member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, head of the Türkiye – Uzbekistan Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Group Osman Mesten.

Information was provided on the socio-political reforms carried out in recent years in all spheres of Uzbekistan.

Osman Mesten noted that constructive and open relations have been established between the two countries, allowing the development of inter-parliamentary, political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Among the Turkic states, Uzbekistan has a special place and authority among the countries of Central Asia. Türkiye recognizes Uzbekistan as a reliable partner.

The parties discussed issues of further developing relations between the parliaments of the two countries, holding an online meeting of the Friendship Group in December this year and in the first quarter of 2023 – a visit of the Türkiye – Uzbekistan Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Group to Uzbekistan to implement the agreements reached at the highest level between the two countries.
