The Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with the Executive Director of Cengiz Enerji, Ahmet Cengiz.

According to MIIT, the parties considered the results of successfully implemented joint projects and issues of further enhancing the investment cooperation in the development of the energy industry of Uzbekistan.

The head of the Turkish company, emphasizing the success of the joint work, announced the company’s intention to expand the existing portfolio of investment projects in electricity generation. In this context, a project was proposed for the deployment of a 400 MW combined-cycle plant in Jizzakh region. This initiative will save 286 million cubic meters of gas annually, which is equal to $103 million in monetary terms.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on a format for further interaction to implement the new project.
