1 million 504 thousand tourists visited Uzbekistan in 2020. They were rendered services worth $261 million. Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov informed about this at a briefing on January 9.

“Tourism in our country has become one of the most affected industries due to the global crisis caused by coronavirus pandemic. In 2021, we set a goal to pay more attention to pilgrimage tourism, carrying out all the work not according to general figures, but based on clear plans and a detailed calculation of the route. In 2021, a visit of 1 million 700 thousand foreign tourists to Uzbekistan is forecasted”, said Aziz Abdukhakimov.

In 2020, the number of local tourists amounted to 1.8 million, and this year it is planned to attract 7.5 million of our compatriots to tourism.
