Uzbekistan diplomats held a meeting with the Regional Officer of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Salamat Erejepov.
At the meeting, the GCF representative informed about the second GCF Global Programming Conference scheduled for September 13-15 in Incheon.
The conference will bring together ministers, national coordinators of foreign countries, accredited organizations and GCF partners to provide a platform for dialogue and coordination of high-level investment plans on the transformation of long-term strategies for reducing emissions and resilience to climate change.
The event will be dedicated to the role of GCF in ensuring actions to combat climate change and will provide an opportunity to promote country programs, exchange implementation experience and disseminate knowledge about operational tools, as well as to strengthen the GCF partner network. The conference program includes a plenary session with the participation of ministers and heads of accredited organizations, parallel thematic and sectoral sessions and bilateral meetings throughout the event.
At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on promising areas of cooperation and priority projects for the mobilization of GCF funds, including with the participation of other donor organizations, for their joint implementation.
