The 17th Uzbekistan – EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee meeting was held in Brussels. The meeting was attended by a delegation of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sodiq Safoev.

The prospects for developing bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union were discussed at the meeting.

Significant progress in strengthening the partnership was noted, emphasizing priority areas of interaction.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint initiatives in the areas of sustainable development, trade, energy, and ecology.

An agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of the Uzbekistan – EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in Uzbekistan in 2025.
