On 9-16 May, Uzbekistan will host the 56th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad.

According to the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions, schoolchildren from Austria, the United Arab Emirates, China, Russia, Turkey, Croatia, Hungary, Israel, Latvia, Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and other countries are expected to participate in the event.

The Mendeleev Olympiad was first organized in 1948. It is considered one of the most prestigious Olympiads in the world. Representatives of almost 30 countries take part in it every year.
