The International Cultural Forum “Central Asia at the Crossroads of World Civilizations” will take place on 14-15 September in Khiva.
The event is being held jointly with UNESCO at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, put forward at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly.
UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay supported the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan.
Another important event will be the opening of the meeting of the Permanent Council of the Ministers of Culture of Turkic Speaking Countries. Within the framework of the program, a report on events within the framework of “Khiva – the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World”, a presentation on the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2022, as well as the election of the Secretary General of the Turkic Council for 2021-2024 will be heard.
On 13-21 September, several cities of Uzbekistan – Tashkent, Khiva and Nukus will host cultural events of the Cultural Legacy Week. Within the framework of the Week, the 5th Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan will be held.
The organizers of the events supported by the Government of Uzbekistan are the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan and the National Association of Electronic Mass Media of Uzbekistan with the assistance of UNESCO, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Ministry of Culture, the oil service company Eriell Group.
More than 350 scientists and experts from almost 50 countries will take part in the Congress.
It is also planned to hold more than ten exhibitions that will acquaint Uzbekistan citizens and foreign guests with the unique masterpieces of Uzbekistan art.
The participants of the Legacy Week will visit Nukus and take part in the opening of the International Scientific and Theoretical Conference “The Role of Bakhshi Art in World Culture Civilization” at Nukus Bakhshi School. They will also take part in the opening ceremony of the International Bakhshi Art Festival.
