Uzbekistan to establish contacts with Israel’s Petah Tikva city

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Feruza Makhmudova has held talks with the Mayor of Israel’s Petah Tikva city, Rami Greenberg.

The mayor informed about the opportunities existing here in the economic, scientific and educational spheres. Assistance in establishing relations between businesspeople, research and educational communities, medical institutions of Uzbekistan and Israel was offered.

Mayor Rami Greenberg noted the important role of the community of Bukharian Jews, immigrants from Uzbekistan, widely represented in the city, whose number exceeds 8 thousand, and emphasized the readiness to organize cultural and humanitarian events jointly with the Embassy of Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed issues of enhancing collaboration in the economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on establishing contacts between Petah Tikva and the cities of Uzbekistan, including joint projects in agricultural, information and communication technologies, healthcare.
