Uzbekistan to allocate 500 billion UZS for handicraft projects
Members of the Hunarmand Association within the framework of family entrepreneurship development programs in 2022 will be provided with soft loans at a rate of 14 percent per annum for up to 18 months.
According to Norma.uz, on December 30, 2021, the President adopted a resolution “On measures to further improve the support system for handicrafts”.
A soft loan is provided for the purchase of equipment, spare parts and raw materials for production needs, the creation of handicraft development centers, Usta-Shogird (Master-Apprentice) schools, the construction of museum houses and workshops, or the acquisition of buildings and structures for these purposes – for a period of up to 3 years and replenishment of working capital.
The document establishes that in 2022, 500 billion UZS allocated within the framework of family entrepreneurship development programs will be used to finance handicraft projects.
